St John’s House is managed by Winchester YMCA, the charity which helps young people fulfil their God-given potential. We have been serving the city for over 165 years and moved our base to St John’s House in 2009 in order to offer a city centre drop-in venue for our young people.

We would love to give you a tour of the unique facilities of St John’s House. These include the centrepiece of our rooms for hire, the stunning double height Assembly Room, Winchester’s historic meeting place, where the crème of city society mingled and danced during the 18th century.
Every penny we make from St John’s House room hires is channelled back into the charity’s work among the young people of Winchester. The YMCA carries out a wide range of programmes in schools, churches and through our own unique youth café, re:fresh, which is open in the undercroft during the week. re:fresh is the perfect place for young people to hang out, meet their friends and access a wide range of advice and support services through our permanent team of qualified and volunteer youth workers.
